Beginning of a Scullery Maid Story

                                   CHAPTER 1
                                   IN WHICH I FIND A
                                   JOB AS A SCULLERY
                                   MAID, AND MAKE LOVELY
                                   FRIENDS WITH A CENTUAR,
                                   AND A FRIENDLY GARDEN GNOME.

Dust flew up behind me as I ran to the town hall. I was going to get tested to get a job as a scullery maid, in the Royal Palace! Before this day had come, I had gone on and on about how I would be a good scullery maid. I helped around  the garden, getting stuff out, I was very good at being a scullery maid.
When I arrived, two men started the test right away.  “ You have any spells on you?” I shook my head. “ Pitty. Last lass had an obedience curse on her. Her name was Ella. She worked for Dame Olga.” Ella? I thought, she was my great-great-aunt. (If you want to hear the story of Ella, read, Ella Enchanted.) So, the test went on and on. When the test was done, the first man took a breath and said, “ Tomorrow,  come to the town square. We will be there; and so will other people who want to get jobs at the palace. There, we will announce who will be getting what. Oh, time 6:00 A.m. sharp,” he said when he saw her looking at the clock. “ Don’t be late,” I nodded my head, and left.
The next morning, I woke up at 12:00. I got in the tub and doddled for three minutes, then, washed for one  minute. Then, I let the water drain out. Dried myself off, and went to my room and got dressed. I thought she heard talking, but it was just my only brother. Then, I skipped out to the kitchen, and started to make some oat-meal. (The whole entire getting ready took one hour.)
Then, after I was done eating, I washed my bowl, and then I trotted out the door, and shut it behind me. For I was taking my five-hour walk. First, I walked by the butcher shop. I had many friends in town. The manager smiled and waved. I did the same to him, then started off  again

Rain

RAIN

The sun shines down,
As a calm breeze blows by,
All in the sudden the breeze is a strong,
Father wind,
Making the bumps of a goose appear,
And disappear on my skin.

I hear that wind call to me,
“Blow with me,
Play with me,
We will blow the crops,
And sing the howling song.”
As I refuse “No”,
The sad wind,
Makes a cloud,
And cries.

I rejoice,
For I had made the right choice,
For the crops get a drink,
The world is wet,
And I,
Was born to be in rain.

Sal

1
Just a Normal
Day. Until……..

Nine year old Sal felt sweat fall down her face. She  was so hot sweeping the porch. It had been June, and she had been told to do her chores, before she could do anything she wanted to do. She was so glad that sweeping the porch was her last chore. Not only because she wanted to go to her favorite place, but also because she lived in Arizona, and it was really hot. So hot, that maybe a person who lives in Alaska, would probably break out in sweat. Finally, after about five minutes of sweeping, she swept up the last batch of, well, trash-I should probably say,- into the dust pan, she grabbed the dust pan, and dumped all the trash into the trash can. Relieving a sigh of relief, Sal slumped down in the chair, and slowly drifted off, to sleep. She suddenly woke up to the sound of the door shutting. She looked to her older sister who was standing to the right of her.“ Who just left,” Sal sleepily questioned. “ Mom and dad. Sorry,” Sal’s older sister, Faith, replied. Faith was Sal’s only sister. Faith was almost seventeen. Faith really enjoyed drama, so her nick-name was Fate.

Little Baby

Little Baby
I just love my sister Annie. I got the idea of writing a poem about a baby from her. Annie, I love you. She was a baby when I wrote this. I’m eight.
Little baby,
Don’t cry.
Little baby,
Feel calm.
Little baby,
You’re mine.
Little baby,
I love you.

Our Vineyard

Our Vineyard

The world is like a vineyard,
A vineyard of us all.

      We all have branches,
Though some of us,
Hardly at all!

      That’s why misionarys,
Come to spread braches,
Branches of the gospel.

      This is of the vineyard,
The vineyard Jacob of told.

Now why don’t you go read it,
It’s in chapter five.

Sunday

Sunday

At church,
We sing reverently.

At church,
We say prayrs,
Fervantly.

At church,
Teachers teach.

At church,
We don’t play,
Like we’re at a beach.

       At church,
It is quiet and respecting to god.

       On Sunday,
We go to church.

Morgan

Sitting on the slick grass in my Morgan Utah,
On a windy but sunny day,
As it is my alone time,
I hear supper cooking,
Mama and Papa whisper,
Children playing,
I see a rabbit poke his head out of a hole and back in,
I see leaves falling,
A squirrel run up a tree trunk,
Have a quiet heart listening to the fine day,
The next day of a reunion for my family,
I will feel relieved to have my Morgan back.

Flagstaff

Swinging in the park in my dearest Flagstaff,
On a playful and sunny day,
As it is family time,
I hear children playing,
Grownups talking,
people having picnics,
I see blankets spread on the grass,
A nearby pond,

I see yellow soft ducklings eating by the water,
I have been happy on this playful day,
The next happy day of a holiday,
Excited to be by family.

The Leprechaun

Once upon a time, there lived a Leprechaun name Lilly.  Lilly however, didn’t act like a Leprechaun.  She couldn’t find the end of a rainbow, she couldn’t find a pot of gold!.  She thought to herself: I just don’t fit in, I try my hardest.  Yes, It was true, she didn’t fit in. Everyone laughed at her.  but one day, she went for a  walk, she walked and walked and walked, until she felt something colorful she turned around and saw the end of a rainbow and a huge pot of gold!  She called some of her friends to help push the pot of gold.  So they pushed the pot of gold to the Shee.  (The Shee is an old tale about group of fairies that the Ireland people [places] tell.)  Here is the beauty part, that was the biggest pot of gold in history!

The Adventures of Cherise and Bryce

This is a story I wrote for Cherise and Bryce for Christmas.

CHAPTER ONE
THE TIME CAT

Cherise and Bryce were out in the woods, picking flowers, listening to the birds, laying in the grass, chatting about how beautiful it was. When Bryce was about to say that he felt soothed, they heard a meow. It was coming from the nearest Pine tree. They ran and looked to the Pine. There they saw a cat. It was a rather old cat. Big and black. Something was quite odd about this cat. It had a big old necklace. It reminded them of  Egypt. The thought of Egypt made them think of countries. Then, they thought of the Jungle. And how their favorite animals were in there. Then, they realized, that they wanted to go there. They started petting the cat. ( Which was not quite so safe.) They wished they could go there out loud. They wished and wished, and they hoped that something exciting would happen. They started being so desperate, that they started to get a little extreme! The cat seamed interested in this. He seamed to be listening. The cat started quaking and shaking. They thought that this meant something, so they started petting him very gently. Now, you remember that they wanted to go to the Jungle, right? Then, bambadada!
Suddenly, they were there!

CHAPTER TWO
THE JUNGLE

They looked around and didn’t know were they were. they felt not only confused, but scared. They wondered what place had monkeys and Boas and lions and tigers. Then, they realized that they were in the Jungle. They felt like exploring, but they knew there were a lot of dangerous animals in the Jungle. But they felt so desperate to actually see tigers and lions and snakes and monkeys. Then they realized that the cat was fairly close. Then, automatically, they started running and exploring. Then, they found what they were looking for. Right asleep, was a Siberian Tiger and a Boa Constrictor. They loved these animals. They were tarifical, fantabulus, glorious, magnificent and awesome.

CHAPTER THREE
CHASED!
They looked at each other in glee. They saw them. They actually saw Siberian Tigers and Boa Constrictors. That is what they came for, just seeing their  favorite animals. Then, they heard a growl and a SSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. They turned around, there they were, the tiger and the snake hungry and ready to eat. There they stood, frozen, body and all, with frozen faces of fear. Suddenly the chase was on. The humans were running from the furious animals of hunger. They were desperate to get home. But how to get home then they saw ahead was hanging vines. They looked at each other they knew that this idea would trick the animals. Throw them in the Amazon. With all the nice little Piranhas. The animals were right behind them now. They ran and jumped and swung on the vines. As for the tiger and snake, they lived happily ever after being eaten by little sweet Piranhas.

CHAPTER FOUR
HOW?

They were safe at last. Now they really wanted to go home. But, how? “Hey,” Cherise said. “you know how we petted that cat?” “ Well, sure,” Brice said. “ Well, we petted it and wished. Then we were here. Right?” Cherise asked. “Right,” Brice answered. “So, I bet if we pet the cat and wish to go home, we’ll be home,” she said “Great,” he said “Let’s go,” he said again. So, they ran to the spot were the animals were then they turned around and saw the cat they ran right to it. They petted it and wished. Once again extreme. Then, babadada! Home!

CHAPTER FIVE
HOME AT LAST
Home at last they thought. Twas’ true. All the trees of beauty. “Look,” Brice said. He was pointing to his watch. It said the same time that it was when they left. “Maybe it’s broken,” Cherise said. “You wait right here,” he said, and ran to a house and knocked on a door, and a man answered the door. Bryce  asked the man what time it was; the man answered the same time that was on the watch. He ran back and told Cherise. “Really?” She said when he told that no time had passed. “Really,” he said. With that, they kept on doing what they were.

THE
END

Lots of Poems I wrote in Barstow

***
Blake my boy,
Smiles so bright,
Loving your kitty
All the day through.

Blake my boy,
Skamperin' 'round,
Shoutin' the news.

Blake my boy,
You've taught me a leson,
To get used to noise!

***

In my father's hands,
I feel the warm strength that a father has.

When I cry, help, help
When I'm home, you rush to my aid.

You've taught me how to care, so tenderly
You've taught me how to help as well as care.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, thank you.

***
I love a woman,
That has a gift,
So to heaven she will go.

A gift of love,
That feels so warm,
Like a blanket,
So fuzzy.

My mother is the person,
So lovingly quiet.

So as you read this,
Listen to my words:
I love you.

***
Annie my little babe,
So small and content,
I hope you won't be a sumo one day,
In China away!

Annie my little babe,
So beautiful and quiet,
Unlike our family,
Brown hair's on you!

Annie my little babe,
So small and cute,
Can't get enough,
Of my little Annie.

***
In My Little Garden

In my little garden, the flowers sway, birds chirp,
I pick flowers, squirels skamper, lookin for acorns.
In my little garden, I like the peacful quiet.
In my little garden, I feel happy in my heart.

My Snoring Grandpa

I have a grandpa that snores.
He snores the night away.
And grandma can't stand it.
He snores her away!

Take a Dear Rest

Take a dear rest,
Sleeptime is come,
Take a snoze,
Take a sleep,
On this starry, starry night.

The crickets are chirping, a bit loud.
Snuggle in the sheets, warm and snug.
Take a dear rest, close your eyes,
And take a rest.

The Barn

Sitting in the barn,
Waiting for dawn to rise,
I smell the smell of new hey.

I get up and get on the rope swing, and swing.
I get that sensation, the sensation that you get
When you're in the place you belong.

Poor Henley

Poor Henley, in the hospitle cot.
Poor Henley, one foot off.
Poor, poor Henley,
But he never gave up.

The Awful Road Trip

In the car, my sister is asleep snoreing, drooling,
And many, many other discusting ways to sleep.
I feel nosous, sick and billious.
"I need a bowl to throw up in," I complain.
I know there are 16 more houres
Till we end the trip.........
But when we get home, I'll throw up, and cry,
"That was an awful road trip!"

Goin' to Barstow

"Goin' to Barstow," I sing as we ride.
The perfect eye sight, in out my window with me.
"Goin' to Barstow, Goin' to Barstow," I sing.

Six Sexy Women
Six sexy women,
Walking across the street I spy.
Jewels, jewelry,
Belts, purses, chains,
Make-up, and
Sexy, sexy clothes.

Oh, Brother!

Oh brother! My brother yells.
Oh brother! My brother hits!
Oh, brother! But he's a toddler.

When the Real Time Comes

When angels gather 'round the people,
When angels blow trumpets,
When Jesus appears.

I Love You, Cupid

Cupid, Cupid I love you.
Come to me, my love cupid.
You're my biggest valentine.
Cupid, cupid, come to me!

Help My Poor Soul

Hot and waterless,
Bare foot on the steaming hot sand.
Help my poor soul!
No building lay ahead,
Doomed to die,
In a dreadful desert.

Bucko and Emily

Bucko and Emily
Were bad ones yes they were,
They robbed,
They shot guns!
"I'm Emily and this is my husband, Bucko!
We're bad! Hands up!"
Emily screamed
Wherever they went.

Rose

My,
My,
The wind,
A howling man,
Blows the little princess,
Beauty,
With swords,
To defend.

(I learned about personification and wanted to try it out.)

The Painted Sky

Laying in the grass,
Looking at the sky,
The sun falls asleep,
Disappearing in the hills.

I see the painted sky,
Red, orange and yellow,
Red, for the blood of the sun dying,
Though the sun will be resurrected.

Orange for the fruit of health,
Suggesting life to stay with the sun.

Yellow, for the brightness and cheer,
"For the world should be more happy,"
As the sun would say.

The painted sky in the evening,
Is a reminder in life,
The sky is painted in the evening,
So go and remember these words,
As you see,
The painted sky.

My Heavenly Father Lives

 My Heavenly Father Lives
By Emma

He lives, Mary was the first to see it.
He lives, the disciples were the second to see it.
Time had passed, he came again to the Nephites.
They felt the prints from the nails.
